Rice crisis in the Philippines

Is it really there's a crisis in rice here in the Philippines or it's just a part of the plan of our President to caught our attention and forget the issue of ZTE case she'd been link?

This question comes up on my mind when a tricycle driver told us that it might be the reason. When I open the television and saw hundreds and thousands of people who are falling in line just to buy rice, I feel pity. Especially when I saw them crying because there are people can't buy during that day because the allowable kilograms of rice to be sold in the market is already done. And now, what happens to the Philippines? Why is it we are now buying rice from abroad? I just wonder how long will this last. What I am most concerned is the effect of this in health among my beloved filipinos.
